Summary of Service

The University of Westminster Legal Advice Clinic provides free legal advice and assistance to the public and learning opportunities for law students at Westminster Law School. All services are supervised by a practicing solicitor or barrister. • Employment advice on, for example, disputes relating to dismissal, procedures at work. • Housing advice on non-urgent housing matters for example, return of deposits, disrepair. • Family advice on, for example, divorce/dissolution, disagreements regarding arrangements for children, finances following relationship breakdown, domestic violence (non-emergency situations). • Immigration advice is available, for example, applications for Indefinite Leave to Remain, applications based on family ties. • Windrush Justice clinic: Advice and assistance is available for making claims under the Windrush Compensation Scheme. • Contested probate matters eg: challenging the validity of a will or how an estate is being managed. Personal injury ; e.g. accidents at work/ car or road traffic / injuries caused by defective products.
