This legislation will establish the "Online Court" in England and Wales by setting up online procedure rules committee (OPRC), and giving Ministers powers to introduce an online process for civil, family and tribunal proceedings.
LawWorks have briefed Peers on this legislation during its passage through the House of Lords. This Bill will establish the online court process - first proposed by the Briggs Review of civil courts and taken up by Government as part of the HMCTS modernisation programme.
Other policy work we have undertaken on the HMCTS reform programme includes a submission to the ongoing Justice Select Committee Inquiry and a response to HMCTS estates strategy - both on behalf of the Litigants in Person Support Strategy Partners.
