Pro Bono Opportunity with Nucleus Legal Advice Centre

Nucleus Legal Advice Centre provides free legal advice in welfare benefits, housing and debt across West London. Their clients are amongst the most vulnerable often on benefits or low income work and living in insecure housing. Nucleus have also run pro bono legal advice sessions in partnership with local solicitors since the 1970s to cover additional areas of law that they otherwise would not be able to cover. Nucleus Legal Advice Centre are looking for immigration, family and wills/probate solicitors to support their pro bono advice service.

Volunteering opportunity

Nucleus Legal Advice Centre are looking for immigration, family and wills/probate solicitors to support their pro bono advice service.  The service is delivered weekly by phone, usually in the early evening for 2 - 3 hours but the timing and length of the session is flexible depending on the availability of volunteer solicitors.

Nucleus triage and book appointments which last 30 minutes per client.  In terms of follow up work, Nucleus ask for notes of the advice given to be emailed to them in the morning the day after the appointment so they are able to provide support if the client contacts them again.

Person specification

At least 1 year PQE in immigration, family or wills/probate.
