Judicial Review: The Independent Review of Administrative Law

LawWorks have submitted a response to the independent review of Administrative Law (IRAL) chaired by Lord Faulks QC which is looking at issues concerning Judicial Review.

The Independent Review of Administrative Law (IRAL) was established to consider options for reform to the process of Judicial Review (JR). These options will then be presented to the Government to decide which, if any, options for reform should be brought forward into law. Whilst JRs undertaken on a pro bono basis are relatively rare (as they can be costly procedings), our response stresses the importance of Judicial Review to access to justice and the rule of law, and as a "backstop" remedy when other approaches are insufficient. You can read our response below.
