Volunteering opportunity
FLAG DV are looking for family law solicitors to join their team of volunteers to provide free, impartial family law advice to people affected by domestic abuse. This role is essential in helping survivors understand their legal rights, navigate their legal options and achieve a sense of safety and justice.
Volunteers will be part of a structured volunteer schedule with remote work, be part of a supportive and dedicated team and will gain valuable experience in a specialised area of family law.
Time commitment
45 minutes on a set rotational basis, typically once a week. However, some solicitors prefer to volunteer on a fortnightly basis. FLAG DV will consider all requests.
Person specification
SRA certificated solicitor with at least 2 years post-qualification experience in family law.
Strong understanding of domestic abuse issues, excellent communication and interpersonal skills, ability to maintain confidentiality and professionalism and proficient in using contact management systems or willing to learn.
The ideal candidates will be empathetic, trauma-informed, and reliable.
