The clinic is open to the general public of Worcester and offers free appointments with qualified solicitors to support those who cannot afford or access legal advice in the areas of family, medical and personal injury law.
Volunteering opportunity
The clinic is looking for qualified solicitors in the areas of family, medical or personal injury law to attend client appointments and provide verbal advice to the client. The appointments will also be attended by trained law students who will observe and note take, giving them excellent work experience to support their career ambitions.
Appointments will be held in person in confidential meeting rooms within the library. Each appointment will be a maximum of 45 minutes, and limited to verbal advice only.
The Legal Advice Clinic Administration team will triage client queries and provide details to volunteering firms to conduct conflict checks and to facilitate the appointments. The clinic director will also be in attendance on clinic days.
What will the time commitment be?
10 dates will be advertised between November 2024 and April 2025 on an approximate fortnightly basis with 2 appointment slots available on each date between 2pm and 4pm.
Person specification
Qualified solicitors who ideally have at least two years’ post qualification experience in the areas of family, medical or personal injury law.
