Pro bono opportunity with the Liverpool Law Clinic

Our team of qualified solicitors advise clients about family law problems involving children, assisted by trained and supervised law students. The service is offered for free to those who cannot afford to pay a solicitor privately elsewhere. We are part of the University of Liverpool and our law students are able to sit in on client appointments and gain valuable legal experience that helps them to gain employability skills and an insight into legal practice work on family cases.

What are you looking for volunteers to help with?

We are looking for experienced family lawyers to volunteer for one-off advice appointments with clients, for children matters only. The appointments can be attended in person or virtually over Microsoft Teams and will have a couple of students in attendance.

What will the time commitment be?

This can be discussed but minimum time commitment is 2-3 times a year for one-off appointments.

What will volunteers get out of this?

Volunteers will be helping to train the next generation of lawyers and helping to plug the gap with the lack of legal aid available to people who need help with family law cases.

Person specification - what type of volunteers are you looking for?

We are looking for qualified solicitors who specialise in family law and are keen to help plug the gap for the lack of legal aid.
